The Houston Society for Coatings Technology has funds on deposit and available to the membership in our Continuing Education Investment Account. These funds are available to cover educational expenses for our membership, up to an annual maximum of $500 per member, and can be applied to seminars, technical presentations, ICE (Paint Show) sessions, coatings courses offered through supporting universities and similar programs. Funds are paid directly to the education provider. The funds allow our members to gain useful technical and market training and improve their understanding of coatings performance and design while reducing the costs associated with continuing education, either for themselves or their employers.
Member-applicants should advise the Board of Directors in advance of their intentions to pursue such courses so that we can determine qualification. However, the great majority of expense incurred in pursuit of coatings technology training has been reimbursed. The reason the Houston Society exists is to promote the continuing education of our members, and these funds exist and are available to our members specifically for this purpose.
"Members of the Houston Society for Coatings Technology can receive up to $500 per year for qualified educational expense reimbursement."
